Timely action taken by the City of Sedalia will see the arrival of a new fire truck two years ahead of schedule while saving $200,000.
The city council agreed at last week’s meeting to go forward with the purchase of a Spartan Ladder Truck for the fire department, totaling $1,680,000. City administrator Kelvin Shaw explains that the city had already planned for the purchase, but could have had to wait another two years.
The council also approved a resolution authorizing the police department to apply for a Justice Assistance Grant totaling $10,231 to split between the department and Pettis County Sheriff’s Office.
Shaw says Sedalia will spend its $6100 share of the grant to purchase in-car cameras.
