Four men are seeking to become the next mayor of Lexington, including a write-in candidate.

Three names will appear on the November 5th General Election ballot in the city: John Harden, Tom Hughes, and Paul Young. The Lafayette County Clerk’s office tells KMMO News that a fourth candidate, Dale Doak, submitted the required paperwork to run as a write-in candidate.

The four are pursuing the seat vacated by David Goodloe, who stepped down from office in May. The unexpired term will last until April 2026.

Statewide, the Missouri Secretary of State’s office has received write-in paperwork from four candidates for president, one for U.S. senator, and one for governor.
