Two Boonville residents were injured early Thursday, Nov. 28 when their car went off the side of a Cooper County highway.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the crash just before 2:30 a.m. on Route U, just east of Route B outside Boonville. According to the crash report, the 26-year-old driver failed to make a leftward curve as his vehicle was driving north. His vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck several small trees, coming to rest in a tree line. The driver suffered moderate injuries, while a seven-year-old boy in the car sustained minor injuries. Both were taken to a Columbia hospital. Troopers say the driver was not wearing his seat belt, while the boy was.
