The Slater City Council voted to renew its contract with the Saline County Emergency Management Agency during its meeting on Tuesday, February 4.

The city has been a member with the agency for several years. City Administrator Gene Griffith says being a member has plenty of benefits.

Griffith did mention the contract went up a little bit, but the council still voted unanimously to renew the agreement.

In other news, the council voted to hire Sherwood and Sherwood Law Offices to serve as the new city attorney for Slater. The council also announced the date for the Steve McQueen Day Car Show, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 14.
