The Saline County Emergency Management Office has announced a burn ban for the county, effective until Friday, March 14, 2025.

Emergency Management Director Tony Day tells KMMO News dry conditions have resulted in the ban taking effect, as conditions are prime for open fires to get out of control. Day adds that rain in the forecast for Friday night should provide relief from the conditions.

Residents are advised to not attempt any controlled burns or start any open flames while the burn ban is in effect.
