Three Holden residents, including two children, were injured after their pickup ran off a highway in Johnson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 29-year-old woman was driving her pickup east on Route 2 east of La Tour Tuesday, March 11 around 2 p.m., when at the intersection with SW 1651 Road, the pickup crossed the center line and into the path of a dump truck. The dump truck swerved to avoid contact, but was hit in the front left tire. The collision caused the pickup to leave the roadway and overturn, coming to rest of the passenger side.
The pickup’s driver and two passengers, a five-year-old girl and three-year-old boy, all suffered moderate injuries. The three were taken to Kansas City area hospitals. Troopers say no one in the pickup were wearing their seat belts. The dump truck driver had no reported injuries.
