The City of Moberly has started emergency work on one of its streets after uncovering a problem during its milling and overlay project.
The Moberly City Council authorized the purchase of supplies and services necessary for emergency repairs to Longview Street during it meeting on Monday, October 20. Community Relations Manager Scott McGarvey says the city uncovered major issues on Longview when contractors milled off the roadway.
McGarvey says the city will now have to replace the entire street.
The city approved a quote from Christensen Construction in the amount of $130,984.80 for the work. McGarvey says the city hopes to have the project complete in two weeks, but that timeline could be extended if more complications arise. McGarvey thanked residents for their patience as the city continues work on the roadway.
