The Missouri Department of Transportation is warning drivers of a phone scam being sent to cellular devices across the state via text.

The scam involves text messages that appear to be from the Missouri Court System or another state agency, usually seeking payment for a traffic citation or other kind of personal information. These messages usually have a fake case number or warn of auto insurance hikes.
