The Marshall City Council is postponing their regularly scheduled meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Apr. 21, 2026.
An agenda was not posted as of Tuesday morning outside the City Office Building. KMMO News has learned from city administrator JD Kehrman that city officials are awaiting further guidance from the Missouri Secretary of State’s office, after a separate division of the office contacted the city Monday. Kehrman says the plan is to reschedule the next council meeting for Thursday at 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, both the Slater City Council and Slater School Board are scheduled to meet Tuesday evening. The school board will swear in three members, including newcomer Stacey Haynes, and consider the district’s summer school schedule and career ladder plan for next school year. Slater’s school board meeting begins at 5 p.m. The City of Slater will inaugurate Crystal Wiseman as their new mayor, along with new and returning members to the city council. The council will also review a change of contract for their electric poles. The Slater City Council meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall.
