The sale of four surplus vehicles were approved Monday, Apr. 20 by the Carrollton Town Council.

Mayor Keith Higgins tells us that the council approved the sale of a grader, dump truck, pickup truck, and a Crown Victoria that the town had declared surplus. The City of Bogard was the lone bidder on the grader at $6501, while the other three vehicles were sold to separate bidders for a combined $2155.

The council also received an update from Jeffery Martin about the city’s community development block grant projects, and adopted an ordinance formally vacating an alleyway next to the former Staton Hospital on South Main. A request from My Hometown to close the streets around the square for First Friday events May 1 and June 5 were approved by the town council. During the meeting, incumbents Lisa Conner, Justin Lindo and Jacob Reffitt were sworn in to new terms on the council, as they faced no opposition in April’s municipal election.
