The Kansas City Royals overcame a two-run deficit late, defeating the Detroit Tigers 3-2 Friday with a walk-off single from Kyle Isbel.

Detroit opened the scoring in the second inning, with Spencer Torkelson grounding into a double play to score Riley Greene. Isaac Collins tied the game in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single.

The Tigers took the lead with a two-run sixth inning, chasing starter Kris Bubic from the game after five-and-two-thirds. Bubic allowed all three runs on four hits and four walks with five punchouts.

The lead would hold until the eighth, when RBI hits from Isbel and Maikel Garcia tied the game at three. Isbel was a hero again in the ninth, slapping a walk-off single into left field to score Nick Loftin from second base.

Lucas Erceg picked up his third win with a scoreless ninth.
