A collision eight miles east of Versailles on Wednesday, May 13 sent a family of six to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the six were in a horse and buggy that was traveling west on Route C just after 5:30 p.m. Troopers say the buggy was struck from behind by a SUV driven by a 22-year-old woman from Versailles, as she was cresting a hill east of Gracey Creek Road. The family of six—a 29-year-old woman, 28-year-old man, and children ranging from an infant to age six—were all taken to a Columbia hospital with serious injuries. The SUV driver incurred minor injuries and sought her own treatment.
