The Moberly School District Board of Education approved its fiscal year 2027 budget and issued its general obligation bonds for 2026 during its meeting on Tuesday, May 12.

Superintendent Cristina Wright says the district was still able to form a balanced budget, even despite some uncertainty with the Missouri Foundation Formula and other changes state lawmakers could make.

The budget was approved by the board and takes effect July 1, 2026.

The board also approved a resolution to issue its 2026 General Obligation Bonds, which total almost $12 million. Wright details what projects these bonds will fund.

The board also decided to cancel its July board meeting and instead meet twice in the month of June. The Board of Education plans to meet June 9 and June 23.
