Two of Glasgow’s schools will have new principals next school year, following action taken Wednesday, May 13 by the district’s board of education.

The board accepted the resignation of Rex Beltz, who has accepted a position next door in Fayette.  Glasgow Supt. Stacey Kottman says the board moved quickly to hire Beltz’ successor, current middle school principal Molly Monnig.

Kottman reflected on the partnership that Beltz and Monnig had as the district’s secondary school administrators, saying that the experience will help Monnig adjust to leading the high school.

Also Wednesday night, the Glasgow Board of Education certified the list of 28 seniors who will take part in graduation exercises this Sunday at 2 p.m. 16 eighth-graders will take part in a promotion ceremony set for Thursday at 6 p.m. The board also voted to make no changes to the district’s mission statement. Kottman says the board normally reviews the statement at the end of each year. The board will spend the next month considering the budget, before they formally adopt it at their next meeting scheduled for June 30.
