The Higginsville Board of Aldermen approved a recommendation to write-off a balance of personal property taxes from 2019 during its meeting on Monday, May 18.

City Administrator Jeanette Dobson says the recommendation came from Lafayette County Collector Lori Fiegenbaum, who determined that $239. 67 in personal property taxes from 2019 are uncollectible.

 

The board also approved a proclamation for EMS Week from May 17 to May 23. As part of National EMS Week, Dobson says the the city’s EMS Department is holding their 3rd Annual Lifesavers Blood Drive from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 21.

 

The board also recognized Power Plant Supervisor Jeff Drury for 20 years of service to the city. Drury also serves as a part-time EMT and firefighter for the city.

The next Board of Aldermen meeting is set for Monday, July 1.
