A Lexington teenager suffered moderate injury after her vehicle went off a state highway north of Odessa on Tuesday, May 19.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 16-year-old was driving south on Route 131 just before 4 p.m., when on the curve between Mulberry Road and Valley View Circle, her vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment. Her car also struck a fence before overturning. She was taken to a Kansas City area hospital. Troopers say she had not been wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
