Two vehicles collided south of Warrensburg on Wednesday, May 20, sending three people to area hospitals.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says an SUV driven by a 58-year-old man attempted to brake as he approached an intersection along Business Route 13 in the Pertle Springs area south of Warrensburg. At about 2:40 p.m., the SUV began skidding, crossing the center line, and striking another SUV that was driven by a 28-year-old man from Higginsville. The Warrensburg driver sustained serious injury and was flown to a Kansas City area hospital, while the Higginsville driver and a passenger in his SUV, a 36-year-old Warrensburg man, were treated for moderate injuries at a nearby hospital.
