Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation are scheduled to replace culvert pipes on two sections of a section of a rural route in Howard County next week.

MoDOT says the pipe replacements will require the road to be closed from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. while work takes place. Route U is scheduled to be closed between Route H and County Road 103 on Tuesday, August 18, and between Route BB and County Road 122 on Wednesday, August 19.

Motorists will need to use an alternate route around the work areas.

The work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
