Residents might be wondering what’s going on near Eastwood Elementary School in Marshall. There are a couple of pieces of heavy equipment sitting on the east side of the school.

During the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, October 19, Municipal Services Director Bill Anderson explained some digging and work on a pipe need to be done.

Ward 3 Councilman Charlie Guthrey said he saw several big pieces of concrete near the project area.

Anderson said the city needs to get this done, and it’s the best way to not disturb the newly-paved street. He said it fixes the problem with only a minor dig on school grounds.

No formal vote was necessary, but Anderson received the approval to go ahead with the work.
