During the meeting of the Glasgow School Board on October 21, Superintendent Sonya Fuemmeler gave an update on COVID-19.
According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, she said COVID-19 has certainly made adjustments to the school year interesting, and the district is feeling good that it has made it through the entire first quarter with in-seat instruction.
Fuemmeler also said after several students and faculty were sent home to quarantine, the district temporarily had to move to Yellow- Phase 2 of its recovery plan. However, she added that as of now, nearly all of those in quarantined persons have returned, and the district has moved back to Green- Phase 1.
Fuemmeler says “We will continue to keep our mitigation strategies in place, and hope that our school and community stay healthy throughout the cold and flu season.”
Actions taken during the meeting included approval of the annual audit report; and approval of the purchase of a blade for the Gator to use to clear snow from the sidewalks and areas that cannot be reached with the snow blade on a full-sized vehicle.
