Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, driving became the preferred method of travel for many Americans.

According to a survey done for Friend, Levinson & Turner Associates, the LOOP reports, Americans drove more than 2.8 trillion miles over the course of 2020.

The survey analyzed DUI arrests, accident fatalities and more to find out that overall, Missouri drivers were ranked ninth-worst in the nation.

Highlights include:

  • Missouri has 285 DUI arrests per capita;
  • There are 18 collision fatalities per capita in Missouri; and
  • Fourteen percent of Missouri drivers are uninsured.
