Annexations of four properties were approved by the Higginsville Board of Aldermen during its meeting on Monday, August 2.

Public hearings were held on July 19 for each of the four properties, and the annexations were determined by the Board of Aldermen to be reasonable and necessary to the proper development of the city, and that the city has the ability to furnish normal municipal services to the area annexed. The properties are owned by Wayne Lieser; Robert and Susan Eisenlorh; Lenn Roberts and Donald McKetchinie; and Benton and Claudia Williams.

In other news, Jeff Graham was recognized for 15 years of service as a city employee. Graham began his employment as Animal Control Officer- a position he still maintains- on July 17, 2006. He also serves as Nuisance officer and assists the police department and dispatch whenever necessary.

In addition, the board approved a bill for a procedure to disclose potential conflicts of interest.
