During its meeting on Monday, September 20, the Marshall City Council considered approval of the proposed ordinance to limit parking on a certain portion of North Lincoln Avenue during certain hours of certain days.

Mayor Julie Schwetz gave the details.

Mayor Schwetz pointed out this is to help alleviate the logjam of traffic on North Lincoln Avenue to get out to the Spainhower Primary School.

The council approved the first reading. The second reading of the ordinance will have to be approved during a future meeting before it will go into effect.

In other news, the council approved Mayor Schwetz’s appointment of The Reverend Mary Wilson to the Marshall Public Library Board.

Mayor Schwetz also made a recommendation to appoint Jim Steinmetz to the Planning and Zoning Commission. This appointment will need to be approved by the council at a future meeting.
