For the first time ever, the Marshall School Board held an event called “The Floor is Yours,” allowing members of the community to present questions and comments regarding the district in a public non-formal discussion. During its regular meeting on Tuesday, February 23, the board reflected on the event.

Ellen Lance, MSBA Delegate said the event was a healthy form of communication between the school district and the community – however, as an audience member tuning in virtually she would like the board to improve the audio on comments of the public at future forums.

Lance says the less structured the open forums is a great way to have the community feel more comfortable attending.

Board President Bryon Jacques explained the intent of hosting “The Floor is Yours.”

The board plans on hosting open forums once a month prior to meeting in regular session.
