
David Jacob Jewell, 79, of rural Marshall, died Saturday, February 26, 2022, at The Living Center in Marshall.
The family will hold a memorial graveside service at Shiloh Cemetery in Thayer at a later date. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com
Born December 24, 1942, in Thayer, MO, he was the son of the late Cleveland Jewell and Nora M. Davis Jewell. He married Nancy Jo Hibdon and they were married for 54 years before she passed away. He played the guitar, banjo and piano and loved music. He loved to write songs, and he also enjoyed fishing, gardening and raising tomatoes. The family had big family get togethers where they enjoyed playing cards and checkers. He attended Shiloh, a non-denominational church, in Thayer.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Madolyn Jewell and Lydia Jewell both of St. Louis, MO; companion, Joyce West of Versailles, MO; one nephew, Bobby Jewell (Lisa) of rural Marshall; and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by one son, Scott Jewell; a stepson, Jeff Houchen; and nine siblings: Ruby, Norman, Newman, Gordon, Jeannie, Eldon, Sue, Bobby and Willie.
