The Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at State Fair Community College and New Growth Women’s Business Center are scheduled to host a no-cost Small Business Administration (SBA) government contracting certifications overview from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, April 6, in Room 217 at the Fielding Technical Center on the Sedalia campus and via Zoom web conferencing. Registration is required.

A press release says government contracting can be a critical tool for growing businesses and increasing profits. While not all businesses are suitable for government contracting, the SBA has several certifications and business development programs to help those who are socially and economically disadvantaged.

The overview will provide information about the SBA’s programs and government contracting basics. The presentation will cover government contracting suitability; how the government buys goods and services; how to market a business and identify federal opportunities; small business federal government contracting certifications; and available resources.
