A family-friendly entertainment center located near the Marshall Square has announced it will be implementing a “No Tolerance” policy, effective Friday, March 18.
According to the Marshall Cinema, if a child is dropped off at the theater they will be required to bring in a school ID to purchase a ticket. Once viewings begin, if the child is loud or causes disturbance they will be kicked out of the movie with no warning.
Kim Thompson, owner of the cinema says, “They will not be refunded for their purchases, and they will be banned from future movies. I commend my amazing staff for their efforts to control the crowds. However, they were not hired to be babysitters and certainly not bouncers. I have complete faith in all of them to be fair and just. What they say goes.”
Thompson clarified that if a child does not have a student ID, parents are able to go inside to provide the child(ren’s) name and an accessible contact information. Children who are kicked out of movies are welcome to wait inside the cinema until their ride arrives.
Thompson says, “Safety is our main concern.”
