Missouri Division of Tourism’s 2023 Juneteenth Grant information and applications are now available online.

A news release says nonprofit and civic organizations across Missouri are encouraged to visit the website to learn more and submit their application for consideration.

Deputy Director of Missouri Division of Tourism Lori Simms says, “The Missouri General Assembly appropriated funding for FY23 to support Juneteenth events throughout the state. Juneteenth is the commemoration of the freedom of the last enslaved people in the United States and these events help tell authentically American stories. We encourage all sizes and types of qualifying events to apply.”

Proposals will be scored on a series of attributes, such as the number of years the event has been held, the number of days the event lasts, and attendance, among other criteria. Awards range in amounts from $5,000 to $100,000.

Application submission officially opens today and closes on August 15. Notifications to award recipients will be sent on September 30.
