Elsie J. Evans, 76, of Slater, died Monday, August 7, 2023 at The Living Center in Marshall.

Memorial services will be Monday, August 21, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Slater, with Rev. Paul List officiating. Inurnment will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall.  Memorials are suggested to the ALS Association in care Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.

Born February 27, 1947 in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Dorothy Pointer Slee.  She was raised by her step-father, the late Alfred Olmstead.

She is survived by two sons, Chris Evans of Slater, and Brian Evans and his wife Jennifer of Slater; two daughters, Kimberly Baker and her husband Andy of Slater, and Ashley Edmonds and her husband Chris of Marshall; fifteen grandchildren, Lesli Kalleck, Andy Baker, Jr, Bradley Baker, Kyle Evans, Tim Trelow, Natausha Martic, Cassie Martin, Anthony Martin, Ashley Kitts, Austin Evans, Nevaeh Evans, Cory Edmonds, Dani Owens, Chloe Edmonds, and Emma Edmonds; seventeen great-grandchildren; a brother, Terry Slee of Lexington; and her former husband, Roger Evans of Cedar Hill, Missouri.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Olmstead; a half-sister, Vickie; and a granddaughter, Cherokee Evans.

Ms. Evans was a retired aide for the Marshall Habilitation Center, and had lived in Slater since 2010, moving from Marshall.
