The Concordia Board of Aldermen discussed several upcoming maintenance and replacement projects during its meeting on Monday, April 1.
The board started by discussing a waterline replacement project between Fredrick Street and Maryland Street. City Administrator Dale Klussman said this specific waterline has been having issues, so the board requested bids and awarded a contract to Earthworks Excavation and Associates in the amount of $64,183.
The board also discussed a quote from Kuecker Electric LLC. in the amount of $6,661.37 to install new lighting at the Concordia Maintenance Building. The board wants to move forward with that proposal, but will have to wait until the budget allows for the project to move forward. Klussman said this was an unbudgeted expense, so the board will wait until it’s comfortable spending the money for the project.
Also, the board reviewed several bids for work that will be done at the Southside Park. Two bidders submitted three conceptual designs which will be presented to the Park Committee. The committee will review these designs during their next meeting on April 4. A recommendation will be forwarded to the Board of Aldermen at the April 15 meeting.
