Crews are continuing to complete energy efficiency upgrades at several Marshall Schools buildings.
Assistant Superintendent David Reinke provided an update during a brief meeting Tuesday of the Marshall Schools Board of Education.
Reinke says the company designing the upgrades will help the district measure their energy savings.
Reinke also reported that construction on the new intermediate school on East Slater continues well, with the next round of concrete pouring set for the end of the month. Also during his update, Reinke announced that the district had accepted from the City of Marshall the title of the remaining land at the former Marshall Habilitation Center. As part of the exchange, Eastwood School will close after this upcoming school year and be transferred to the city.
The board agreed to setting their annual tax rate hearing for Aug 27th at 5:45 p.m., prior to the start of their next school board meeting, and gave first reading to several policy revisions.
