The Moberly School District is gearing up for projects at the Middle School and Spartan Fieldhouse this summer following the passage of its $11,500,000 bond measure in the April Municipal Election.
The Board of Education reviewed the results from the April 7th election, which saw the district’s bond measure pass with almost 73 percent voter support. Superintendent Cristina Wright says work to add a storm shelter at the fieldhouse will begin this summer.
In other action from Tuesday’s meeting, the board also swore in incumbent Heather Cleavinger and welcomed newcomers Alix Hill and Rena Roth. The board then elected officers, electing Susanna Freeman to serve as President and MSBA Representative, Cleavinger as Vice President, and Jessica Taylor as Treasurer.
Board members also approved a three-year contract with First Student and an updated contract with the Randolph County Sheltered Industries.
