The Concordia R-II School Board adopted a motion Wednesday, Apr. 15 to dedicate the high school’s concession stand in honor of an area couple.

Beginning this fall, the concession area will bear the names of Robbie and Karen Hemme. Supt. Dr Theresa Christian says the couple has served and supported the district over the years.

The board also approved a number of staff changes for next school year, including increased stipends for the sophomore class and Student Council sponsors. Christian notes that another change will see a teacher add librarian duties at the high school.

The Concordia School Board also voted to establish a federal programs director that will work with the district’s Title programs, and updated a number of other job descriptions. The board also amended their dates for summer school, which Christian says was a typo in the board packet at an earlier meeting, and renewed their junior high football cooperative with St Paul Lutheran.
