Three teachers at Slater received recognition at the Tuesday, Apr. 21 school board meeting for winning regional awards.

Also Tuesday night, the board approved alumna Kendra Householder as the commencement speaker for the high school graduation ceremony the evening of May 8.

Slater’s school board also approved the district’s career ladder plan for the next school year, and a bid from Ecolab worth $6500 to address a termite issue at Alexander Elementary. The board welcomed Stacey Haynes, and swore him along with returning members Ted Wiseman and Alexsis Dowell into office. Wiseman was re-elected vice president and Dowell secretary, while Bonita Butner remains board president.
