A Warrensburg man lost his life Monday, May 4 after troopers say he was struck while directing traffic around a construction site in Pulaski County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 35-year-old construction worker was conducting traffic control on an outer road of Interstate 44 about a quarter-mile west of the intersection with Route H in Waynesville. The patrol says that at around 2:20 p.m., an eastbound SUV driven by an 88-year-old Waynesville man failed to notice the worker in the roadway and struck him. The worker was pronounced dead at the scene.
