The Moberly City Council authorized the city’s participation in a State Block Grant Program for funding of taxi lane improvements at the Omar N. Bradley Airport during its meeting on Monday, May 4.

Community Relations Manager Scott McGarvey says this project is the first step in a process to add more hangar space at the airport.

McGarvey says the city is receiving close to $175,000 in grant funding for the project, with city only requiring a five percent match.

Council members approved the grant agreement with the Missouri Department of Transportation Aviation Division to receive the funding.

In other news, the council accepted the lone bid from Corrective Asphalt Materials (CAM) for the city’s 2025 Street Improvement CRF and reclamite projects. McGarvey also is reminding residents that the MoDOT will being resurfacing work on Route 63/South Morely Street from Carpenter Street to Route A beginning May 4. Drivers should expect delays as crews work around the area.
