The Marshall Lady Owls Soccer Team is poised to make a run in the Class 3 District 15 tournament after securing the NCMC title and finishing out a 17-3 regular season.
Marshall defeated Fulton 11-0 Tuesday, which was the team’s 13th win in a row. It’s been over a month since the Lady Owls last dropped a game, with their last loss being a 1-0 defeat to Southern Boone on March 30. Head Soccer Coach Lorena Reyes says her players were motivated to make history in the last year of the NCMC’s existence.
Marshall is the third seed in the district tournament, behind top seeded Summit Christian and second seed Capital City. The Lady Owls open the tournament by taking on Camdenton at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, in Jefferson City. Reyes says she’s proud of what Marshall has been able to accomplish so far this season.
If Marshall win Saturday, the team will play again in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 19. The district championship is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, May 21.
