The MMU Board of Public Works approved a water-service request for a local business, as well as heard an update on the progress of a project during its meeting on Thursday, January 11.
Underground Facilities Director Grant Piper said Fisher Concrete/Marshall Ready-Mix is located outside city limits, and was granted a release from Saline County Public Water District No. 3 to request water service from MMU.
Piper detailed the request and thinks an agreement would be beneficial to both parties.
Piper added the original request was for one water-service line, but the concrete company recently found out it needed a second. So, the board approved the agreement upon receiving an updated request that included the second water-service line.
In other business, Electric Distribution Director Jeff Bergstrom updated the board on a situation with the 161kV Emergency Tie Project regarding DNR permits to conduct certain work.
Bergstrom added he is scheduled to meet with a DNR representative soon to discuss the proper steps to continue work for the project.
