The Higginsville Board of Aldermen recognized an individual for almost two decades of service for the police department during its meeting on Tuesday, February 20.
City Administrator Jeanette Dobson said the board acknowledged Tom Long for working as an officer with the Higginsville Police Department for 15 years.

In other business, Dobson said the board approved a rezoning request which was discussed during a public hearing recently.

Dobson added the properties were originally zoned as single and two-family residential homes.
