A Sedalia man has been charged with felonies for an alleged assault that occurred last month in Pettis County.
According to a probable-cause statement, on March 30, Sedalia Police officers were dispatched to a convenience store in the 3000 block of South Limit in reference to an alleged disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a victim who reportedly said he was attacked by a man after driving a woman he met that night back to her residence. The victim said he eluded the attacker by leaving the scene, but reportedly was followed and attacked again at the convenience store. Officers reportedly viewed video surveillance from the store and the attacker was identified as 22-year-old Chad Marcum.
Online court documents say Marcum has been charged with two Class E Felonies for Third-Degree Assault and First-Degree Property Damage. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.
Marcum’s initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court is pending.
