A Lafayette County food pantry’s location which was destroyed by a fire earlier this year has reopened at a new site.
According to a news release, the Shepherd’s Food Pantry, which reopened on June 9, is scheduled to serve patrons at the old fire station at 608 Main Street in Waverly from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 23.
Patrons will be served a prepared box of food based on family size and are asked not to show up early due to the lack of parking. Also, patrons are asked to not park in front of the fire station because they will be served in their vehicles. Signs will be in place to direct traffic flow.
Patrons need to bring a current utility bill– excluding cable TV and cell phone. If your utilities are part of your rent, you need to bring your rent receipt.
The Shepherd’s Food Pantry also will be open the first, second and third Saturdays in each month beginning in July.
