Dangerous storms rolled through Saline County on Wednesday, May 22.

During the meeting of the county commission on Thursday, May 23, Emergency Management Agency Director Tony Day said the storm sirens were sounded in Slater due to a storm that had formed between Marshall and Slater.

Day further explained why he chooses not to sound an all-clear siren.

Day said, as far as he knows, there was no damage reported in the county. He said the storms formed, but there were no touch downs. He said there may have been a few funnel clouds popping in and out of the clouds, but no real damage has been reported.
