Two out-of-state men have been charged with a drug-related felony for allegedly being in possession of several pounds of marijuana after a traffic stop on I-70 in Lafayette County on September 5.
According to a probable-cause statement, with the help of a K-9, the trooper says he found vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana weighing a total of six pounds in the trunk. One of the vehicle’s occupants also reportedly possessed $1,360, which was seized as a forfeiture to the state.
According to online court documents, 26-year-old Philipe Rivera, of Sunrise, Florida, and 34-year-old Tyrone Martin, of Henderson, Colorado, each has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Rivera also has been charged with a driving-related misdemeanor. Bond for each man has been set at $10,000 cash or surety.
Each man was arraigned and entered a plea of not guilty on September 6. Each man is scheduled to appear for another hearing at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
