A lawsuit filed against the City of Marshall and several of its police officers was settled in federal court on Friday, December 14.
The lawsuit was filed by Carl Roettgen for a incident involving his arrest by the Marshall Police Department in 2015. Roettgen’s charges were later dropped by Saline County Prosecuting Attorney Don Stouffer. Roentgen then filed a lawsuit against the city and several Marshall Police officers: Tyler Newell, Josh O’Bryan, William McMellen, Mark Pitts, as well as Assistant Chief Todd Reeter and Chief Mike Donnell.
During the federal court proceeding on December 14, the judge approved a $100,000 settlement in the case.
