A two-vehicle crash in Jackson County on Friday sent two area residents to the hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred when the vehicle driven by 37-year-old James O. Shaw, of Warrensburg, was struck by a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Jodie Rapp, of Sedalia. Shaw was reportedly attempting to cross 50-Highway from Route F when he traveled into the path of Rapp’s vehicle resulting in the collision. Both Shaw and Rapp sustained serious injuries and were transported to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence for treatment.

The crash happened at 11:56 a.m. on Friday, April 2 in Jackson County.
