A Sedalia man on parole for burglary has been charged with another felony for allegedly burglarizing a Pettis County residence earlier this month.

According to a Pettis County Sheriff’s report, a deputy responded to the report of somebody burglarizing a residence on Harding Road. The resident said items taken included a 12-gauge shotgun, a .380-caliber pistol and a jewelry box.

On July 12, the resident said a male subject brought in items to a jewelry store and provided identification as Joseph Matthew Edwards. Authorities traced him by using the tags on the car he was driving.

Court documents say Edwards is charged with a felony for first-degree burglary. Bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety.

Edwards’ initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
