A Hardin resident is charged with a felony for allegedly stealing a dirt bike from a residence in Norborne more than a year ago.

According to a Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputy’s report, on April 7, 2020, a black 2008 Tao Tao with handlebars, exhaust and rims gold in color was reported stolen. The bike is valued at $1,000 by its owner.

On May 1, 2020, a Hardin resident told authorities he had purchased a dirt bike from Jimmy Milligan. Authorities looked at the dirt bike and noticed it had been tampered with- including the handlebars, exhaust and rims had been spray painted white, and the VIN number had been sanded off. Milligan told authorities he had purchased the dirt bike from another guy three weeks prior, but he could not recall his name.

Court documents say Milligan is charged with a felony for stealing of $750 or more. Bond has not been set yet.

Milligan’s initial hearing is pending at Carroll County Circuit Court.
