Along with distributing checks to the five entities from the economic development sales-tax revenue proceeds received from the half-cent economic development sales tax- less the expenditures for the ongoing water and sewer project at Marshall Junction- the Develop Saline County Advisory Board also considered a request from Marshall-Saline Development Corporation Executive Director Cydney Mayfield during its meeting on Thursday, October 13.
Mayfield explained the county has the opportunity to be the home of a regional welcome center at Marshall Junction.
Mayfield explained what she needed from the board.
After a few questions and more explanation, the board voted to approve Mayfield’s request. She estimates the cost for her request to be $15,000, which will come off the top of the money the entities will receive from next year’s sales-tax disbursement.
