Our sweet little mother went into the arms of our Lord on Thursday, November 25. And He said Well done, good and faithful servant! Enter into the kingdom of heaven!

Trudy Karigan Knight was born in Pilot Grove on May 14, 1924, daughter of Walter and Martha (Esser) Kraus. She married Fred Karigan on May 18, 1949. They were married 38 years. After Fred passed, she married Roman Knight in October 1993. They were married 5 years. She was a graduate of Central Business College.

Trudy was a lifelong parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and an organist. She was a member of Daughters of Isabella, and a staunch pro-life advocate. She was also leader of Sacred Heart Busy Bees, a 4-H club. She was a member of Helen G. Steele Music Club and gave piano lessons for 18 years. Much time was given to volunteering for hospice, mental health awareness and pro-life work. She also played pinochle with her card club for 60 years. She canned everything Fred grew in the garden, to feed her growing family!

Preceding her in death were sisters, Amy Vinehage and Julia Fischer; brothers, Tom Kraus and Dick Kraus; husbands, Fred Karigan and Roman Knight; daughters Carol Anglin and infant twins.

She is survived by her children, Martha Karigan-Winter (Larry), Steve Karigan (Kathy), Jeff Karigan (Linda), Patty Williams (Bob), Tim Karigan (Kim), Joe Karigan (Chrystal); step-children Becky Guisti, Curt Knight and Laura Frazier; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Chapel with Fr. Joe Corel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Sacred Heart School, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
