The Sedalia City Council approved the 2023-2024 budget during its meeting on Monday, March 20, 2023.

According to City Administrator Kelvin Shaw, the council held a public meeting on the proposed budget prior to the council meeting. Shaw stated the total budget for the city is approximately $53 million, with general $16 million allocated to the general fund.

The fiscal year budget is for April 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024.

In other news from the meeting, the council approved the annual appropriation to the Economic Development Corporation of Sedalia-Pettis County. The appropriation in the budget is for an additional $5,000 to bring the total to $140,000 for the fiscal year.
